Wipro North-west 3PIN PLUG

Why Use 3 Pin Plug Tops?

It's important to look at the safety of electric appliances made up of metallic bodies for which using a 3 pin plug is the best possible option. A 3-pin plug, as its name suggests, consists of three pins. It is essential to know how a 3 pin plug is wired correctly. The major working of a 3 pin plug includes providing electricity to the appliances with a metallic body safely. Each wire has its own specific colour and the pin must be correctly connected to the three wires in the electrical cable for the efficient working of the 3 pins.

There are two types of 3 pins depending on the usage. One is the 3 rectangular pin, earthed and fused which protects heavy appliances like refrigerators or microwaves.  These types of appliances are also required to be earthed to prevent electrocution which is caused due to electricity passed to the metallic body. The other kind is a 3 round pin, earth plug which is used to provide safety to heavy appliances like TV and AC. These substances also require an Earthing connection, because it’s not easy to design these kinds of appliances without providing safety hazards in case of any failures.

3-pin electrical socket outlets are made to tolerate a  maximum of 13 amperes (A) of current. Before putting a 3 pin on plug tops, one should ensure that electrical equipment can operate under these situations. The new electric appliances these days come with a completely fitted 13 Amp 3-pin plug. The earth pin or the 3 pin plug top is generally bigger and thicker than the rest pins, especially the live and neutral pins making it the first to connect and the last to disconnect.
